Accounts Support for Breast Cancer Charity Renewed for Second Year Running
A Tamworth accountancy and business adviser firm has committed to providing free accounting services to a local breast cancer charity after stepping in to help at the eleventh hour for last year’s accounts.
Adams Moore, based in Albert Road, put together the first year’s accounts and tax return for Sharon Fox Breast Cancer Charity, which was established in 2011, and has offered to do this year’s accounts for the charity free of charge,
Sharon Fox said: “Adams Moore stepped in to help with the first year’s accounts and have gone above and beyond the call of duty in terms of helping us with general business advice and advice of specific documents and presentations we have created, in order to help us achieve further fundraising and run the charity more effectively.
“We are delighted they have chosen to support us again this year. It isn’t just monetary donations that help us in the valuable work we do, but the support of companies and the services they can offer to help us in our mission, which contribute to the overall running of the charity,” she added.
Sharon Fox founded the charity following her own experience with breast cancer, where she was keen to try therapies to make her treatment easier, but none were available locally other than at hospital. This led her to launching the cancer support unit, with the mission to help, inspire and empower people to take charge of their cancer experience. The Sharon Fox Cancer Centre is now funded by donations and managed by local women. It provides friendship, support, complementary therapies, counseling, wig and dietary advice and craft workshops, among many more services.
Adams Moore partner Martin Crook said: “We became aware of the Sharon Fox Cancer Centre when we found out that the mother of one of our employees had used the services of the centre. Sharon called in to see me and asked for our assistance to sign off and file the accounts.
“All of the volunteers at the centre work so hard, and every penny they raise goes to a very worthy cause. We decided to support them by offering our services free of charge for the foreseeable future. We feel that being one of the many sponsors of the centre fits our mission statement perfectly, and believe that their services make a significant difference to women who are being treated for an awful disease,” he added.
The Sharon Fox Cancer Centre has also gained the support of famous Nolan sister, Linda, who is a patron of the charity.
