Celebrating all that is great in the region

Last night saw the gathering for the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Business Awards, with 35 businesses from all over the region up for a variety of awards in categories spanning Excellence in International Business, Customer Service, Social Media, Innovation and People Development, to name a few.

As Chamber President Tim Pile rightly commented, the region should be proud of what it has become and it faces a highly exciting future, citing us as the ‘New Victorians’.

It’s great to read and hear about good things in our regional business arena and negates the stories such as the report today with figures from the Office of National Statistics showing how severe the economic decline in the West Midlands has been. This may have been the case, but the outlook today is certainly more encouraging with stories of business and regional growth everywhere.

We can hardly believe we are nearing the end of April and as the Easter Bank Holiday is upon us it gives us all a much-needed breather and a time to reflect on what has been a fast-paced start to the year for many. Confidence and optimism has been in the air for some time now and it’s infectious.

For some the Easter break may be a time to spend with close friends and family, for others a religious celebration and for most of us, a very good reason to indulge in far too much chocolate! Whatever you are up to this Easter, we hope you have a good one!
