LOCAL FIRM JOINS NATIONAL ADVISORY SCHEME TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES

New Service Bridges ‘Advice Gap’ Left by Demise of Business Links

Tamworth – 4th November, 2011 – Local companies can now access free advice and information via a national scheme to help bridge the advice gap left by the demise of Business Links, after a local accountancy and business advisor firm joined the scheme.  Albert Road-based Adams Moore has joined the Business Advice Service, launched by the ICAEW, a professional membership organisation supporting over 136,000 chartered accountants worldwide.  The service allows businesses, wherever they’re based, to access quality providers of advice services and receive a free initial consultation.

Neil Lancaster, partner at Adams Moore, said:

“We’re committed to local economic growth and feel that in joining the ICAEW this demonstrates our commitment further.  It’s sometimes very difficult for SMEs and start-ups to find or justify the funds for professional advice, and as a result they may often skip this vital process and miss out on advice which could greatly benefit their company.  The free initial consultation gives them the opportunity to at least explore this option – and we think it’s great that the ICAEW has launched this initiative.”

The ICAEW believes this service is invaluable at a time of fragile recovery and limits on public spending.  The organisation says there is a clear need for expert business advice which will help SMEs and start-up businesses become engines of growth, and that its members are ideally placed to fill the ‘advice gap’ that is opening up.

The consultations are not time limited so those businesses choosing to seek help from the scheme can be assured they’ll get the time and dedication needed at their initial consultation.  They can then choose to take further advice at further consultations or end their association with the consulting company if they no longer need the services and their queries were answered.

Adams Moore offers accountancy services for businesses of all sizes, and in addition to joining the ICAEW scheme, it recently launched a fixed-fee service, Board Support, to enable businesses to access up-to-the-minute accurate advice and support on tap on a range of business and accountancy issues – without the worry about escalating bills when they need advice.

Board Support provides a higher level of service, encompassing accountancy and business advice, for Owner Managed Businesses (OMBs).  The service is comparable with an in-house Finance Director, providing on-going help and advice.  This means businesses don’t have to worry about bills stacking up or a meter running when it comes to accessing advice during the day-to-day running of the business.
